This research systematically investigates the role of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) in enhancing knowledge transfer related to sustainability within Europe's mobility sector. Grounded in Resource and Knowledge Based Views, it fills a gap in current literature. Utilizing a quantitative approach through negative binomial regression models, the study explores how startup investments influence patent production among STOXX Europe 600 companies. Findings demonstrate CVC's efficacy in promoting knowledge transfer and green innovation, affirming its role as a tool for open innovation and sector competitiveness. The empirical analysis leads to recommendations for European mobility companies and policymakers to integrate capital, innovation, and sustainability strategies.
